Live action short film trades CGI for old-school Jap sci-fi

The trailer for Studio Ghibli’s Kyoshinhei Tokyo ni Arawaru/Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo is out, and the live action tokusatsu (special effects) short has eschewed CGI for traditional filmmaking techniques, including a heavy reliance on miniatures for the action scenes. The treatment is undoubtedly Jap, unabashedly old-school and mega-geeko scifi. Gushing is mandatory.
