As Facebook tipped one hundred billion photos on its servers, a little company in downtown Los Angeles was working hard on a robot they called the “BeautyBot”. The Beauty Bot was intended to become the world’s greatest photo booth – actually airbrushing people as they had their photos taken and adding special effects to the images – the understanding being that people loved photos of themselves looking super-hot.

Polite in Public now describes itself as a ‘social media photo booth’, a way for corporate clients to share branded photos organically via social media. It also happens to be a party favourite with celebrities like Paris Hilton and Hugh Hefner. Polite in Public photo booths are based in Sydney and Los Angeles.
