David Mach sets his matchstick sculptures on fire

I had seen David Mach’s match made work a little while back, but what I’ve only just discovered is he sets his sculptures ablaze. Discovered when a client accidentally set Mach’s work on fire at home, they found it revealed a charred sculpture that looked similar yet felt completely different – even more impactful and dramatic. He now does this on purpose with other sculptures, with the actual transformation part of the show. You can see it here on the video.

About the author

A love of traveling, art, and denim saw this Brit native mix them all up. The result was art crafted from denim and a new home in Sweden. Even though he once lived in Australia and never rode a wave, Denimu is only slightly better with a keyboard and likes to write about the things he has seen on his travels and the people he meets along the way.
