Five Themes: new art by William Kentridge

I first saw the work of William Kentridge many years ago at Annandale Galleries here in Sydney.  I was captivated by his aesthetic which meanders through various drawn, sculptured, filmed and animated mediums.  So when I discovered his “Five Themes” exhibition was traveling through Melbourne after showing at New York’s Moma gallery I made sure I was there to see it.  Of all of Kentridge’s work I definitely have a soft spot for his charcoal animations,  the result of many hours drawing, erasing and filming.
