Mail from intriguing minds and personalities such as indie author-publisher Dave Eggers, comedian Margaret Cho and Bored to Death TV series creator Jonathan Ames, that’s what. San Francisco-based literary website, The Rumpus, is founded by author-filmmaker Stephen Elliott, who has called it a ‘hybrid between a letter from a friend and something like a literary journal’, though at the end of the day it’s ultimately ‘closer to a letter than anything else’.
