Vinyl record plays stop motion animation as it plays music

Now this is incredible! Designer Michael Hansen has developed this remarkable double-sided vinyl record with beautiful, intricate designs on it that act like a stop-motion animation as the vinyl spins on the player.

As our friends at Design Boom have noted: ‘Both the album cover and the surface of the vinyl are designed specifically for the song recorded on that side. The images on the record itself (a 33 1/3 RPM) create moving animations when played on a turntable and lit with a strobelight at 50 to 60 Hz’. Best thing we’ve seen all year.
