Philadelphia-based artist Kyle Kogut’s mixed media drawings channel primal instincts in his layers of mark and mythos. Entangling meticulous line work with dense organic mark making, he entwines absurd figures and strange environments in seamless harmony.

Referencing mythology, death, birth, human nature, and natural law, Kogut creates mystical narratives reflecting the beauty and brutality of our existence. Chaos clashes with awe, with figures sometimes being engulfed in their surroundings. Kogut’s work will be on display during May at F and N Gallery in Philadelphia, and keep an eye on his blog for new works.
