Art inspired by urban decay by Steve Javiel
My artwork is inspired by decaying walls, train containers, abandoned buildings, and typography. I believe that these aged surfaces tell a story and that they are a raw reflection of their environment. The aging is not premeditated.

Hi Steve, love this work, how do you achieve such wonderful aging of the surface?
You keep appearing on my face book page which is good.

Thank you Anna, I have lost and lots of images that I have taken over the years for reference. Its just layers on top layers till you get to the point where it looks like a wall or a decayed surface.

These pieces are amazing, I am doing an essay on urban decay artists so would like to include your name if you wouldn’t mind? Would you describe what media you used to create the layers and textures?
