Radio documentary about composer Conlon Nancarrow

This is a brilliant radio documentary on the late Conlon Nancarrow. Often composing music too fast or complicated for the human player, he took to punching holes manually into piano rolls. In essence, he was one of the first composers to use musical instruments as mechanical machines to create music that couldn’t be replicated by playing the piano live: a forerunner to all electronic composition.
