Paraorchestra: an ensemble of disabled musicians

The British Paraorchestra is the brainchild of Conductor, Charles Hazelwood. After Hazelwood’s fourth child was born with Cerebral Palsy, his eyes were opened to the world of disability. Hazelwood set off on a mission to create the world’s first Paraorchestra, the goal being to create a musical ensemble of prodigous disabled musicians that would rate against any other ensemble in the world. Hazelwood hopes to create global awareness for disabled musicians in conjunction with the 2012 London Paraolympics.
