In a disused fish factory in the depths of Cornwall, Diggy Smerdon’s studio is far from the urban cities where her work is commonly exhibited. She brings to life themed characters and creations of dreams and her sub-conscious. Line drawn figures and personalities, personified creatures, and hidden images are set against a flow of abstract movement and colour to capture a moment of reverie. The closed eyes and contented expressions of these painted personalities allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the paintings’ unique emotion, without fear or anxiety.
