Mrs Sippy: a new bar in Double Bay, Sydney

There’s people watching and then there’s Mrs Sippy. Located just off the main drag in Double Bay, Mrs Sippy is a new bar brought to us by the guys who run The London in Paddington. Keen to find a new local hang that didn’t attract the weekend Sheaf crowd, we headed down on a Saturday night and discovered an even stranger mix of people.
A celebrity criminal, Pauline Hanson, the plastic surgeon who fixed Charlotte Dawson’s boobs, Mel B from the Spice Girls, a handful of strippers, an array of over-botoxed train wrecks and a sixty-something tradie wearing a paint-splattered t-shirt that said ‘Ask me about free digital channels’ were just some of the characters who made an appearance.
Luckily the food is great and cocktail list extensive otherwise you might have a hard time relaxing in this place. Take our advice and ease into it with afternoon drinks in the sunshine before taking the plunge on a Saturday night.
