Tumblr features three frames of movie footage at a time
This is a tumblr you will find yourself clicking through until there are no more ‘next’ buttons to click. An evolving archive of animated gifs that exploits, that’s right, just three frames of movie footage at a time. Animated gifs are excellent in that way that they are like watching a migraine and also addictive: you just can’t stop watching that tiny moment over and over.

Grand Chasm installation by Sand Dune Hike
We are a collaborative art three piece making large-scale spectacle style works for the gallery and the stage. Our recent project has been the construction of the Grand Chasm, inspired by B grade horror and theatrically enhanced natural wonders. This installation took the form of an enclosed platform that housed a bottomless pit that was revealed at the push of a button. Our works are largely inspired by DIY illusions, kitsch and theatrical tricks.
I saw Erik Omen last year and was super impressed by their music. They put on a great live show, with the charismatic lead singer effortlessly swapping microphone for sax and keyboard. I was treated further when i came across the film clip to their single, Payphone. A simple idea rendered beautifully through what looks like a number of digital and analog production processes to produce a nostalgic lo-fi-high-cool effect.

So have you seen that app that turns your portrait into a unicorn version of you set to a kitschy unicorn dreaming hypercolour backdrop? A real party starter (or stopper), this app is a must for anyone who has ever believed that actually magic happens.

Spontaneous, loose and moody, like a hurricane blasting through an art supply store, the work of Washington artist Garric Simonsen is just a little Basquiat — with droll humor mixed up and splattered all over a canvas. I can’t help but chuckle at titles like Damn I Just Ruined My Best Shirt and Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha.
Hahahahahaha! Cursebird is a ‘real–time feed of swearing on Twitter’. Perfect for idling away the hours when the work day just seems too damn sanitized.
