Erik Omen: Payphone
by I saw Erik Omen last year and was super impressed by their music. They put on a great live show, with the charismatic lead singer effortlessly swapping microphone for sax and keyboard. I was treated further when i came across the film clip to their single, Payphone. A simple idea rendered beautifully through what looks like a number of digital and analog production processes to produce a nostalgic lo-fi-high-cool effect.

We are a collaborative art three piece making large-scale spectacle style works for the gallery and the stage. Our recent project has been the construction of the Grand Chasm, inspired by B grade horror and theatrically enhanced natural wonders. Animated gifs are excellent in that way that they are like watching a migraine and also addictive: you just can’t stop watching that tiny moment over and over.
