The songwriter in me listens for interesting melodies and lyrics. The instrumentalist in me listens for unique sounds and chord progressions. Will Phalen’s You Don’t Ask (I Won’t Answer) is the sort of genuine song that stops me from listening for something in particular. As is this song above.

I feel blessed to guest with them on occasion, and learn something every time we hang out. I was moved during this song at the majestic Pritzker Pavilion, looking out at the Chicago skyline on a beautiful summer afternoon.
