I love whales. We’re actually nearing whale migrating season here in Sydney and I’m dying to see some seafaring creatures pass the harbour; so that’s most likely why I appreciate Sergey Ryzhov’s work even more. His latest canvas work titled Surreal Adventures displays dream-like, colourful whales swimming in this artistic journey. It’s completely mind-bending, stillness.
I’m really digging the strange, geometric symmetry of illustrator Raymond Lemstra’s mask and totem inspired work. Read more

Monet and The Impressionists is on display at Sydney’s Art Gallery of New South Wales until January 26, 2009.
