Silkscreen, letterpress, and woodcut art by Zansky
I’m loving the wild and wonderful work of graphic artist Zansky. Working in silkscreen, letterpress, and woodcut, Zansky has his finger on the pulse of some acidic heartbeat, pumping out some freaky imagery for the masses.

Gary Musgrave is a recent graduate from Art Center College of Design, and is quickly gaining fame as an illustrator and printmaker. He just did a great cover of Harper’s magazine. Musgrave is a DIY purist, and usually burns his silkscreens in the sun instead of under a lamp. His work has a kind of intimacy that gives you an immediate feeling of his personality and sense of humor.

Eight nights of music by Kraftwerk at the Moma
There will be eight consecutive nights of music by Kraftwerk at the Moma between April 10-17. Each night will consist of a live performance and 3D animation of the studio albums Autobahn (1974) thru Tour de France (2003). Canada seems to be the land of amazing ambient metal duos. Montreal has Menace Ruine, and Toronto has Nadja, a formidable couple that churns out huge-sounding, bass and electronics-driven doom that draws your gaze up towards the stars just as old cathedral ceilings humble the faithful and make them think of the Almighty.

It’s hard not to sigh at another vector face or skull and diamond combo. I’m guilty of skull overindulgence myself. But Six Letter Word — aka illustrator, Diogo Potes — balances skulls with other macabre themes to create art that actually looks fresh and interesting. Read more
