Abstract artists tell their parents what their work is about

Lenert Engleberts is a Dutch multi-media artist who writes and directs short films that make one ponder things such as procrastination, beauty, art and life. They are presented in an oddly humorous and artistic way. Even the commercial and print work he does is quite satisfying. This film is titled How To Explain It To My Parents.

Zebra Katz (featuring Njena Reddd Foxxx)

This video by the Zebra Katz reminds me of a scene from The Ring, but set in the hallways of middle school, with vogueing and braids. It’s some dark evil groove.

Remember how the forgotten (and the forbidden) places attracted you as a child? Well, I think I never got past that phase. I haven’t had the courage to do any big scale explorations yet, but while I’m planning for it, Forbidden Places is a good place to see what other people are finding in hidden places around the globe. It’s very eerie and intriguing. Read more

The sound New Zealand band The Brunettes make is Hallmark card pop — naïve sincerity mixed with low-fi, casual kitsch. Says chief songwriter, Jonathan Bree: ‘You’ll find us somewhere between US punk and just before classic 60s romps’. And so we will.

Diva Pittala is the designer of edgy and glamorous fashion label, Pleasure Principle. Silk tied in knots on the back of baggy dresses might be their trademark, but this spring’s collection goes much further. Read more

These one-of-a-kind gems are look good enough to eat, but much better to wear. The sugar jewels, plus other great Simek pieces, are available in the Lost At E Minor store.
