Phantasmagoria: photos by Lesya Westerman
Phantasmagoria is my most recent series of photographs, focusing on creating images that hover between illusion and reality. Chock full of anonymity, motion, rich colors, and just enough drama to make you a tad uncomfortable. Still in the beginnings, I’ll be creating an image a week to add to this definitive portfolio.

Loved To Death: a whacky boutique in San Francisco
Not exactly synonymous of the ‘peace and love’ movement the Haight is famous for, but Loved To Death is my favorite shop on the street. Carrying everything from controversial historic items such as KKK robes to taxidermy animals and skulls, this boutique is perfect for anyone who appreciates oddities and slightly frightening items. Bonus: a selection of authentic tin-type photographs.

Vintage cameras at the online Lomography store
Despite Kodak’s recent bankruptcy, film is making a comeback in the form of toy and specialty-effects cameras. Suitable for nearly any age and varying levels of photographic skill, Lomography.com is highlighting the relevancy of 35mm and 120 films. They offer a selection of great starters— such as Holgas — and move up to more experimental equipment, like the Lomokino 35mm movie maker.

Then, slowly, the drawings seem to be moving, they appear to be alive, something is coming, and the story, after a minute, is already all around you. Read more

Oh man! Now I’ve seen it all. An entire blog dedicated to cupcakes, those perfect little bundles of sweet, sweet goodness. Hell, my mouth is watering just looking at them. What will they think of next? A blog about pretzels? Ha! Oh, wait a minute. Damn!
One-woman noise act Child Bride makes droning, ambient, sample-laden, tribal noise that sounds like a pagan cyber-witch mourning the death of her shaman.
We’ve followed Sydney’s ZANEROBE from the sporty retro ‘Summer World Series’ collection to their beautifully cut, pure wool classic suits. ZANEROBE’s latest collection – Game Day, Sunday – represents an opulent collision somewhere between the two. The tailored outerware collection includes woolen duffles, leather bombers and wax-coated twill jackets, all with the typical ZANEROBE attention to detail in the texture, trim, fit and wash. Artist Stephanie Simek has created a sweet (literally) line of jewelry: wearable confections made from crystallized sugar, preserved in plastic, and suspended on precious metal. These one-of-a-kind gems are look good enough to eat, but much better to wear. The sugar jewels, plus other great Simek pieces, are available in the Lost At E Minor store.
