I have not seen any artist, alive or dead, that has the ability to marry paint with metal as well as John Chamberlain. Although Chamberlain began producing these sculptures back in the 1950s, they still carry a great sense of design, style and originality. Chamberlain has treated most of his sculptures as abstract expressionist paintings, letting the fragments’ shapes and colors dictate the composition.
