Interchangeable scalpel blades: a spoon and scalpel in one

This idea had been floating around in my head for a while. Interchangeable scalpel blades. Spoon and scalpel as one! Getting it actually made and stepping back from the computer was a joy. No photoshop, just a fully working prototype. No more tea in my biro or spoons messing up my desk.

If I had a third thumb, I’d give Kumi Yamashita three thumbs up. The Japanese artist creates stunning visual effects with lighting and simple forms, like letters of the alphabet, children’s blocks, and shoeprints. Yamashita finds the rare balance between beauty and brains.

I adore the band Health and am left fascinated by this glamorously bouncy We Are Water remix by Canadian duo Azari & III, who have taken it to outer house-space. It’s pure 80s late night disco at its finest. Ghost Buster meets Short Circuit, anyone?

How neat is the ‘Duna Duna’ Jaws parody shirt by Threadless designer vomitinc? In case you were wondering, the name cleverly evokes the iconic shark movie title’s killer theme song tune.

One part wilderness, one part fashion, all Poppy and Moe: a vintage-inspired knitwear brand with a fabulous line-up of hand-drawn graphics. We love this brand for the nature undercurrent in their designs, all printed on chic silhouettes: a fox with flowers meets an off the shoulder pullover, a cat goddess living on a deep-plunged racerback tank.
