Gotye: Somebody that I Used to Know (featuring Kimbra)
I was recently introduced to this artist and video through a friend. Since watching the video for the first time, I haven’t really been able to stop. The video is perfect. The song says it perfectly for everyone that’s ever been broken up with.

Melancholia: a new film from Lars Von Trier
iTunes made this film available to view last month, so I found it really strange to find out that the movie has yet to be released in most theatres. Regardless, I watched it on Itunes and I still can’t really sum it up. It’s definitely not what I expected. It’s beautiful. And sad. And isolating. And comforting. When it was over I didn’t really know what I had just watched. All that said, it’s the best movie I’ve seen in a really, really long time.
Ignacio Torres is a photographer I met in my hometown of Denton, Texas. It wasn’t until he moved to New York City, though, that we became friends. I had the honor of working a bit with him this past summer in New York, and through this realized just how unique and phenomenal he really is. He has gained an abundant amount of recognition this past year for his 3D moving GIF photos. And rightfully so. They’re incredible.

Intimate Letters Of Eleanor Roosevelt and Lorena Hickok
I’ll be honest. It takes me a lifetime to finish a book. Any book. I always start them, and then have a really hard time with finishing. Every so often I’ll finish a book without skips in consistency. Empty Without You had me hooked from the beginning: it’s a book of letters between The First Lady to Franklin Roosevelt and one of the first female journalists of their time, Lorena Hickok. Not only did this book beautifully account for a pivotal time on our history, it documents an intimate and very long relationship between two very powerful women.

Springfield Punx is a great blog that features renderings of what your favorite comic book, cartoon, and movie characters (and a few late-night talk-show hosts thrown in for good measure) would look like as characters on the Simpsons.
These heady times call for heady music, something spaced-out, trance-y, weird, and devilishly ecstatic to distract us from reality. Chicago’s Cave heeds this call for musical escapism, channeling Hawkwind, Kraftwerk, funk, and tribal frenzy into their mothership-beaconing groove.
