The amazing work of LEGO professional Sean Kenney
Who doesn’t love LEGO? I don’t think anyone loves Lego more than my friend, Sean Kenney. Kenney holds the distinction of being a certified full-time Lego professional artist whose work has been featured in The New York Times and on BBC News. He was commissioned to do a sculpture of the Yankee Stadium, as well as the New York Stock Exchange building. At last count, Kenney owns over 1.5 million LEGO pieces.

TUMBLR: Celebrities with One Tiny Hand
There are some great themed Tumblrs out there, from Casually Pepper Spraying Cops, to Chicks with Steve Buscemi Eyes. Then there’s the life-affirming Fuuuu Comics. Recently, a new Tumblr has found a special place in my heart: One Tiny Hand. Celebritites old and new are given a new lease on life on this blog, which reimagines them or someone near them with one tiny hand. Although I’ve looked pretty carefully the image of Kim Kardashian on there and I’m pretty sure it’s undoctored. Read more
Flex is Kings: a documentary on New York street dance
I’m really looking forward to seeing my friend Deidre Schoo’s documentary on East New York street dance called Flex is Kings. Schoo and Michael Beach Nichols have worked hard, shooting over 300 hours of footage to compile this stunning documentary. Having just won a spot on Indiewire’s Project of the Week, they now have the opportunity to receive a consultation with Sundance, which is an opportunity they certainly deserve.

There’s some nice, doom-tinged psych rock coming out of Holtzclaw, Virginia in the form of Pontiak, a lumbering, feverish, blues-heavy trio that sounds like a hungover morning after a drunken party around a bonfire in the woods.
