ESPLA: a new photography project by Rachel Wolfe
Existence, or the place for the self within another place, has always captivated photographer, Rachel Wolfe. Her photographs from ESPLA describe the vague nature of subtle sensory experiences and intuition of the landscapes within the Los Angelas area.
An artist from the Midwest, interested in the spiritual and philosophical sensibilities of Eastern and Ancient cultures, Rachel’s new project explores the spiritual and communal relationship with nature and the nature of life. In a literal merging of East and West in the contemporary landscapes of Los Angeles. A book containing these images and corresponding texts is currently in progress.

Kristen Ferrell’s artwork is, as her bio puts it, beauty vs. grotesque’ and I’ve always been fascinated by it. I’m not an art critic, but my kids refer to her work as both ‘really beautiful’ and ‘really icky’, which I think sums it up nicely. Read more

That same year Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes also toured with The Dissociatives, which is co-fronted by Daniel Johns of Silverchair and Australian dance producer Paul Mac. Johns also played guitar on Presets single Cookie. Hamilton and Moyes are also members of Sydney instrumental group Prop.
