Fantastically strange comics by Fletcher Hanks
Fantagraphics have released two books in the last few years of Fletcher Hank’s fantastically strange comics. His work was around in the early twentieth century and it’s brimming with personality and energy. The books bring together some amazing stories and I can’t recommend them enough. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Animated music video by Chad Vangaalen
Chad Vangaalen’s music is fantastic. He conjures up some very bizarre stories in his songs and completely does his own thing. Not only does he create music, but he also animates his own music videos, which are equally as amazing. It’s as if he is from another world.
Fight! a new comic by Jack Teagle
When I’m not working on illustration work, I work on my paintings and comics. I try to paint as much as possible, I’m very interested in making bold, simple and striking imagery. I’m also currently working on a comic series set in the wrestling universe I created called Fight! Which is being released by Nobrow Press. I’m working on the second issue now.
Li Wei’s photographs are stunning. So much planning and foresight goes into images which seem like split second ludicrous moments. His work has a great sense of humour.

I got into comic books right when artists like Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, Todd McFarlane, and Erik Larsen dominated the scene. Rob Liefeld, who was also enjoying a good deal of fame with his work with X-Force and The New Mutants at the time, was the only prominent artist I absolutely hated. Read more

There’s a world-weariness about Two Gallants frontman Adam Stephens. It reveals itself in the Tom Waits-like raspiness that permeates his gin house drawl and in the talkin’ blues narratives that he weaves around his simple acoustic fingerpicking. They are the new superstars of the West Coast scene, majestic showmen in homespun rags.
