Adam Hilborn draws rapper Pharaohe Monche
Adam Hilborn has worked with everyone from Complex Magazine to Nike over the last few years. Browsing his newly updated site, we came across the best illustration ever to be seen of the rapper/singer Pharaohe Monche. He did it for an editorial for Pound Magazine. To be able to capture this much texture in a line drawing is incredibly hard. The way Pharaohe’s hair looks, even on his face, individual strands curve together to capture his goatee and eyebrows perfectly, while thicker short strokes create the trimmed looking moustache.

Shooting Donald: a documentary about drugs and gangs
Ben Young, the man behind Greenwood Yard, has been busy. He is one of the most creative people we have ever had the privilege to share a pitcher of PBR with. He’s recently been releasing video content like wildfire through his site and this particular piece stuck pretty heavy. Read more
GG Allin: the new single from Toronto rapper D-Sisive
Toronto rapper D-Sisive is a don. This guy does not do ‘rap’ in the traditional sense, although he has been one of the best artists in the genre for the last three or so years. His new album, Run with the Creeps, is out now and his first visual for the project, GG Allin, does not disappoint. Limping along the railroad tracks, looking like he just had the living crap beat out of him, D brings GG Allin’s on stage insanity to rap for four and half minutes. This is awesome.
Metsa Design’s Concrete Pearl Earrings
So we recently checked out a pop-up shop for Metsa Design’s new Winter Line. As a general rule, I’m a fan of the stuff they are producing, but these Concrete Pearl earrings caught my eye for a long while. Brainchild Marcus Uran has been a long time friend, but from his humble albeit inspired beginnings, it’s great to see the line develop into something this grandiose.

I’ve been a big fan of Michelle Vandermeer’s work since I came across her Mini Majellen zines at this year’s Sydney Writers Festival. Describing herself as a doer — as in one of those people who are always doing or making something — Michelle’s work, which includes book binding, illustration, jewelery making and her zines, stems from an internal creative springboard and a double degree in architecture and graphic design. Her work is smart and succinct. Read more
I live the upbeat, feel good tempo of the new single — A Hundred Hearts — from Philly group, The Swimmers. Off their latest album, People Are Soft, this song is a strangely fitting anthem for the blustery day outside.
