Brilliant portrait tattoos by Nikko Hurtado
The time of anchors and chinese signs is over. I’ve always been interested in photo-realistic painting and, of course, in tattoos. When I saw a piece by Nikko Hurtado for the first time, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Without knowing what’s actually possible today, I thought it must have been a photoshop montage. Hurtado is one of the best needle fiddlers in the world. He is capable of all kinds of styles but focuses on realism and portrait tattooing.

I saw this band for the first time in Vienna as they opened a show for the super-group, Them Crooked Vultures, and I have to say, it should have been the other way round. This year they stopped by in Vienna for a single show, and again, I was stunned how far their skills had expanded. They create a sea of sound into which your soul will eventually float away.
