Jeremy Geddes

Jeremy Geddes is my favorite undiscovered painter. His work is mesmerizing in narrative and particularly in technique. He spends months on one painting!

Resin triceratops by Abdul-Rahman

Consisting of resin, timber and found objects, Abdul-Rahman recreates toys and other nostalgic figures from childhood. My favorite piece of his is the surprisingly large one of a triceratops, which has been ultra realistically crafted.

The genius cinematic remixing skills of Pogo

When I heard Pogo’s work on YouTube, I smiled. It brought me into a nostalgia of warm memories, and for that, I’ve been a closer follower ever since. His profound skill to extract audio and recombine it, capturing the overall sense of the film, is genius.

Yacht Club DJs mash-up Metallica, Kayne, Khia, and Hole

Yacht Club DJs are Austria’s Girl Talk. The DJs mix classic songs and overlap them into a seamless array of beats to get any crowd dancing. I particularly like the way they keep the integrity of the original tracks by keeping it simple. Yes, less is more.

Beijing-based band Hanggai write original songs in the traditional folk styles of their Mongolian ancestors — throat-singing, horsehair fiddles, lutes — spearheading an Asian version of the old-time revival. Though it’s only through the digital age that the rest of the world can access this beautiful music, it makes you want to slow down and reflect on what we’ve lost as a species. This stuff makes every flavor of the month indie band seem vapid and meaningless.

Designer Tithi Kutchamuch created this amazing life-sized bronze, silver, and aluminum parrot whose skull and organs you can pluck out to wear as a necklace.
