What is in a band name that immediately gives us an impression? Air Supply. Could there be any name more odourless, invisible and blank? At least it suited them. Then there are bands who re-write the rules of spelling and grammar, such as HTRK (pronounced ‘Hate Rock’).

When their first album was released, I paid no attention. This bias would have continued if it wasn’t for the singers duet with Rowland S Howard on his last album. The new record, Work (Work, Work), is a treat with its seductive deadpan vocals alongside off-kilter textured guitar and slow simple drum machine patterns.
