Awesome Tapes From Africa
I love African music, and, as you’d expect, there’s an awful lot that goes totally unheard if you live somewhere like England. The Awesome Tapes From Africa website helps to redress the balance. There’s heaps of music streamed and downloadable.

British reggae band: Resonators [live in concert]
Brighton institution Resonators stand out from the current glut of tame British rootsy reggae bands on account of having two female lead singers, a genuinely dubbed-out sound that still maintains the fun factor, and actually being proper tight. Busy with nuff gigs and records (on Wah Wah 45s), they are WELL worth checking out if you like that sort of thing.

Free music download from Dubology
Another of a good crop of dub outfits releasing their music for free, Dubology’s wicked UK-steppers style productions are a cut above most out there. I’ve still got his last album on high rotation around here, and he’s just put out another one. A bargain.

Free download of Wonkay’s new dub EP
If you like your dub of a heavyweight, squelchy persuasion (or perhaps even if you don’t), I’d recommend you download this EP. Three tracks of electronic goodness at no cost whatsoever. A label to watch, Wonkay put out all kinds of cracking music. Mostly for free.

London illustrator Simon Brader’s work is innovative and full of topical innuendo. I love his colour choices in particular, the soft watery washes blending energetically with the more stubborn, edgy textures.
The website of Jason Allsebrook is saturated with bright and colourful illustrations. It’s a childlike haven for dreams and restless spirits as his characters drift through clouds and bounce off the elongated limbs of wide eyed monsters.

This beautiful black and white art periodical Color Ink Book has been designed so that you can add splashes of color to any of the pages that catch your eye. This second issue features the work of more twenty five international artists, including Andy Smith, Formfieber, Marco Rached, Nathan Spoor, and Trystan Bates.
No Age are doing something different to the mass of noise-laden, guitar-drum duos canvasing the lo-fi airwaves at the moment. I’m just not sure quite what. Their album, Nouns, is receiving top-rate reviews after sell-out crowds after screaming, obsessive fans. The music is simply massive: a vast landscape of heat haze, somehow both tranquil and manic, punctuated by singer Dean Sprouts backdrop of barely intelligible vocals and Randall’s distorted, archaic sounding drums.

Not your average animal tees and not your average graphic tees, at that. Meet Sharp Shirter: animal absurdity, and graphic awesomeness. The detectives shirt answers any questions you may have about how a squid looks in a suit. On the man vs bear tee, the bear obviously criticized that dude’s suspenders.
