Artist and photographer Plastic Robot has just released his first book of street art photography, Painted Streets. The 170 page book is bursting with the colours of New York’s streets.

For Plastic Robot, there is more to documenting street art than just taking a picture of it on the fly. He’s very keen on capturing subtleties of colour and texture, as well as the surroundings in which his subjects are found. His attention to context and detail in general make it necessary for him to be pretty much a loan shark. It’s either that or be abandoned by the people he’s with, because he’s been seduced by the allure of a sticker’s curled edge.
