Do Icelandic Cheerios taste differently than American Cheerios? I’m sure there are some subtle nuances in taste and flavor. Do they use goat’s milk for their cereal? I read somewhere that often times Cheerios are served in tiny porcelain dishes at the annual mid-winter feast of Þorrablót. I have seen the traditional Icelandic dish Svið (boiled sheep’s head) served with Cheerios. Peculiar, but fascinating.

I have been a fan of Iceland’s Halli Civelek for a long time now, and it’s great to see the unique illustrations he did for Cheerios. His characters are well-thought-out and the quirky details he includes strengthen their charm. Does he take his Svið with milk?
