Ellen Lesperance recreates sweaters worn by women activists

Ellen Lesperance’s vision looks at activist film archives of Direct Sction campaigns, where women involved are seen wearing sweaters that could reflect their ideological intentions. Lesperance then recreates the knitting patterns of each sweater in a series of gouache paintings, and through the process, memorializes the glory of effective resistance of the original event.
