I liked the idea of broadcastr, an app that lets you record personal stories and pin them to a particular location, letting others stumble across them as they careen through cities using their iPhones like narrative-sniffing bloodhounds.

But I didn’t think people would actually use it or that the stories would be any good. There’s a lot of skill to making a personal story relevant to complete strangers. But the first two stories I listened to, from Jeff_Seal and Malaika_Gordon, about clowning outside the Moscone Center, and smoking meth to get into college, respectively, were perfect. Makes you wonder what else is out there.
