New collage art from Tyler Varsell

My collage and mixed media works deal with themes of identity, isolation, and serendipitous discovery. They are very much an outlet for both my frustrations of society, and personal searches for meaning and truth. Read more

TV on the Radio: Nine Types of Light

I forgot how innovative Brooklyn band TV on the Radio is. Their latest LP, Nine Types of Light, while a little more subdued, is just as chaotic and brilliantly cryptic as 2004′s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, 2006′s Return to Cookie Mountain and 2008′s Dear Science.

A record slightly ahead of its time, it was filled with enough interesting and clever arrangements and instrumentation to never bore. Girl on a Swing is my favorite tune for the tremolo guitar.

I recently photographed the launch party for Mutewatch, a really cool new watch that works just by swiping it just like an iPhone. Very cool. Nice party as well.
