This wonderful time-lapse montage was shot by Dominic Boudreault between late 2010 through early 2011 to show the ‘duality between city and nature’. Locations include Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Manhattan, New York, and Chicago.

Traktor: new single from Swedish folk-pop group Francis

This Swedish folk-pop group has released an EP, This Must Be Blood, featuring Traktor [above], among other gems. They’ve been on the circuit since 2006, with their live performance being described on Last.fm as ‘an unleashed Tasmanian Devil singing heartbreaking gospelsongs’. Fun.

The band is a bit of a forgotten gem at this point. Let’s cross our fingers for a reunion.

Cool name, even cooler clothes. Apparently Karen Walker isn’t the only good thing about New Zealand’s fashion scene. There’s also Jason Gitmans (of Gitmans Knitwear) and Kylee Davis of The Stitch Ministry. Read more

In the animal series, artist/designer Okayboss explores the trend of bands naming themselves after animals. These pieces, inspired by such artists as the Mountain Goats and The Dodos, put a colorful spin on the wildlife-turned-band phenomenon in indie-rock.
