by I’m completely obsessed with Carla Bozulich right now. Lonesome-sounding strings, church organs, soul-destroying vocals that seem inspired by Diamanda Galas, desert-evoking guitar. Bozulich’s music conjures the brooding and urgent desperation that seems to simmer under the surface of most things now. The LA-based musician, known for her other bands, The Geraldine Fibbers and Ethyl Meatplow, has a new album out with her newer band, Evangelista, called In Animal Tongue.
