Skittles … taste the rainbow while you’re skating. Well, Aussie pop star Cody Simpson can. Don’t ask me why he was given the lollie-coated skateboard before embarking on his World Tour. I doubt the teen singer is going to be skating, but at least he can marvel at the artistic concept or just gobble up the treats before expiration.

I really dig artists that have a knack for crafting murals out of different goods. I’ve seen toast, plectrums, handwriting and now corks. Chicago-based Scott Gunderson perfectly reused a multitude of eco-friendly corks to create this meticulous face montage, and many more. Some portraits use 9,000 corks and take up to 50 hours to produce. Read more

I don’t know about you, but I struggle with misplacing my little SanDisk USB stick. That’s why I think Rene Lee’s Metro Flash Drive is one of the savviest, aesthetically pleasing pieces of digital stationary designed this year. Think classic highlighter pink hair with a blunt cut, flamboyant makeup and Minaj’s signature Barbie necklace. All proceed of the doll’s auction will benefit Project Angel Food, an organisation that works to provide food for people affected by HIV and AIDS.

Don’t be afraid of the word retro. It has haunted us all from time to time, but one group that has embraced it with open arms is UK duo, La Roux. Their music is synth pop in the vein of Calvin Harris, Human League, The Eurythmics, and The Knife. There are quite a few of these young and ambitious pop starlets on the scene including Goldielocks. But La Roux takes the cake. Literally. I’m obsessed with their song In For the Kill and have a feeling summer will take it and make it a hit.

The return of the Brionvega rr226
Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
