Albert Oehlen paintings

One of my favorite artists is Albert Oehlen. How does he make the failure of painting seem so effortless? His tinkering with technology has allowed him to rebuild, with seemingly familiar tools, echoes of the worlds around us. The work can appear as lost as we are in our lives, cyber space, or whatever, while still being tethered to forces beyond our control.

He’s got an amazing massive new show in Berlin right now. I hope some of these works make it over to New York, I would love to see them in person.
