Robert Melee is absolutely crazy and creative and I really dig his work. He has a new solo exhibition opening at Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York. This is something I am definitely going to check out.

Jordan Eagles’ Hemoglyphs

Blood, salvaged from a slaughterhouse, is the primary mark making medium in my new solo exhibition, Hemoglyphs at Causey Contemporary. These new works are experiments driven by spirituality, corporeality, fantasy and chance and incorporate new methods of working and preserving the blood. Read more

Jordan Eagles’s exhibition: Works In Bloods

My new solo exhibition is on view from now until October 2 at Causey Contemporary in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The show will feature BAR 1-9, a massive, 32 foot long abstract mural in blood and resin; a 16 foot tall work of blood-soaked gauze preserved on plexiglass; a series created with outdoor sun-drying techniques of the blood; and copper-and-blood mixtures on black acrylic boxes.

Otherworldly: Optical Delusions and Small Realities

This is a compelling exhibition at New York’s Museum of Arts and Design that includes stand out works by Oliver Boberg, Lori Nixx and Kim Keever, among others.

Pat Perry’s illustrations turn me into a mouth-breather because they are so jaw dropping good. He does work for some pretty big clients, like Reef, Urban Outfitters, and Bonnaroo. But it is his personal work that I think is the most interesting. Read more

‘One pig was hurt while making this lovely image of a pig’, reads the caption below Catherine Konopleva’s new art piece dedicated to the cruel butchery of animals. Ironically titled ‘Lovely’, the collage utilizes pig fat, meat and muscle to shed light on pork activism.

Yes, Cuteoverload has been doing it for years, but can there really be too many sites devoted to cute animals? Fuck Yeah Puppies may not be original, but they have puppies. Lots and lots of puppies.

Music isn’t necessarily a serious venture. It’s almost funny when you find some you know will grate to dust the stiff upper lipped critics of the world. Every now and then I like the type of sound that hops around the edge of your ears without working its way into your brain and messing up the seratonin levels. And Californian 16-piece tropical-ska-pop group, Still Flyin’, do just that for me. It’s a good laugh, quite catchy, and an awesome live experience so I’m told: especially with the sun out, a can of cider in your hand and a bunch of grinning faces skanking around you.
