Rick Berry

I’ve known Rick Berry for over five years now and have had the great opportunity to paint alongside him (and sometimes even on the same canvas) at his Boston studio.

Berry is known for his prolific tour de force bravura style of painting. The figures in his work are both dark and mystifying, brimming with life that seem to breathe in and outside of his canvases.

Delving into the ouvre of California artist Chrystal Chan, I was pleased to discover a whole world of whimsical fantasies — bunnies on clotheslines, butterflies and magical forests. She’s even got a section on her site for ‘cute paint’. Cute is certainly the word here. Read more

I don’t know a lot about The Sugars but I like what they do. Their sound is quite rockabilly but quite modern — like White Stripes. They put out a couple of indie singles and I’d really like to find some time to work with them.

Australian-born creative, Marc Newson, is considered to be one of the most influential designers of the past few decades. Having originally studied jewellery and sculpture at Sydney College of the Arts, ‘he started experimenting with furniture design as a student and, after graduating in 1984, was awarded a grant from the Australian Crafts Council, and staged an exhibition — featuring the Lockheed Lounge — at the Roslyn Oxley Gallery in Sydney’.
