After spending several disappointing hours in and out of Chelsea and Midtown New York galleries, I stepped into a gallery with the lights dimmed, turned a corner, and was transported to a place where I hovered between childhood and adulthood. Hyungkoo Lee had flawlessly executed life-sized reproductions of skeletons.

Skeletons of animated cartoon characters such as the Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote, Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny, and others so beautifully crafted that they must surely be real. It had been a long time since I was so bowled over by a gallery exhibition.
