Sarah Morrison
The first time I ran across Sarah Morrison’s photography, I was perusing psychedelic bands on line. The photo that caught my eye was of a model in a very cool dress, flanked by members of The Electric Prunes.
I found her on Facebook and immediately began exploring her work. All of it is fantastic! People float in mid air; models become part of the scenery, and vice versa. She employs pop art, rock fashion, magic and a dash of eroticism.

Umbra and the Volcan Siege documentary
The Luck of Eden Hall was very fortunate to have recently played a show with Umbra and the Volcan Siege. I watched in awe as Jim Licka played a real Mellotron on the stage. It was white and quite small and not anything like what I had pictured in my mind for all these years. Read more

Brilliant black and white comic art of Jeremy Bastian
My friend Gail Potocki first introduced me to Jeremy Bastian’s beautiful illustrations: incredibly detailed drawings inked with a very fine brush. Upon viewing the image he drew of an octopus playing the cello with swords, I found my hand thrust in my pocket grasping for my wallet. Read more
Celina Ozymandias: the self-proclaimed Queen of Psych
Your Psych Tunes was one of the first MySpace pages I discovered devoted to psychedelia. Somebody had taken the time to gather a wonderful collection of site links for mind travelers to browse and had placed some interesting underground bands on the music player. It was great stuff. Read more

Hello, my name is Zolton and I’m a text addict. That’s right, an instinctive, compulsive plier of the trade, straight from the Michael Douglas school of confessional proclamation. Yup, I don’t care if it’s quick or protracted; if it’s a group message or one just for me. I’ll take that text any damn way you can give it. And if that’s a crime in these repressed, conservative times, then so be it. Just don’t strip me of my pride. Or my mobile phone. [illustration by Nathan Jurevicius]

Originally hailing from Kendal, Cumbria and now based in Leeds, the Wild Beasts foursome are the next hopefuls for Domino Records, who sent the group out to Sweden to record their first album, Limbo, Panto, released on June the 16th. The new single — The Devil’s Crayon — shimmers in wide-screen around a sense of location, melody and wonder at the scale of things. Indeed, it sounds like the theme song to a new kind of very English road movie.
