AudioCubes
Whilst the concept of a non-keyboard MIDI controller is nothing new, the AudioCubes do represent an elegant solution to the age-old dilemma of how to make live performance more interesting for electronic musicians. The performer can gesture around these coloured illuminated cubes to control synthesizer or effect parameters in real time.

Marc Newson to design Sydney’s New Years Eve displays
The curvilinear Marc Newson is kind of a rock star amongst designers. He has been extremely fortunate to design such a diverse selection of ‘things’. He has been enlisted by Sydney City Council to design the displays for New Years Eve in Sydney this year. I trust we’re in for a geometrically curved welcoming to the new year, hopefully devoid of the glitz that is normally thrust upon us.

These guys had me at the name, but the quality and distinctiveness of their retro-modern, screen-printed design aesthetic is just as strong. They seem to be quite productive, yet no work seems to be better or worse than another. They must have very good quality control procedures.
Fancy video for the new Space March single
Space Cowboy is a track from the new Space March album, Monumental, and is mixed by legendary producer Mark Saunders (The Cure, Erasure, Depeche Mode, A-ha, Tricky). The video was shot in Mungo National Park in outback Australia and features many fancy video effects to distract you from my over-acting.

I really, really love this blog. Renee Ruin covers art, fashion, trends, with an emphasis on tattoo, fetish and grunge culture and she digs up the most amazing stuff. Ruin seems to like the same artists I do, including the seriously talented Brian M. Viveros.
Man, I remember shaking my tail to Come on Eileen many moons ago — when rat-tails were a right of passage and Molly Ringwald held both the lock and the key to my tiny pitter pattering heart. Back then it was all ice-skating and fairy floss; skateboards and trading cards. It was bags of chips by the rusty school fence and sunburnt faces on crackling summer days. Read more
