Architectural cardboard structures by Ana Serrano

Ana Serrano, a first generation Mexican-American artist, is known for her cardboard depictions of architecture. Her inspiration for these brightly-colored, hand-decorated structures come from her observations of Los Angeles’ diverse neighborhoods and travel to Mexico, Brazil and Italy.

James Mollison’s Where Children Sleep series

His new work, entitled Where Children Sleep, is an introspective look at the lives and culture of children from around the world as told through a series of portraits of each child and a photograph of their bedroom. Lucia Vergara’s Cosmic Ice-Cream jewelry series

Lucia Vergara’s jewelry is super cool but I absolutely flipped for her Cosmic Ice-Creams series. These gorgeous triangular necklaces are bold in shape yet delicate in workmanship and color. The solid pastel pieces are accented with a beautiful array of textures, iridescent colors and glitter. They are suspended by a refined and vintage looking chain that adds to their delicious beauty.

I found this beeeaaauuutiful Taylor guitar on consignment at a local mom n’ pop guitar store. As soon as I played it, I knew it was the one. It has a really warm sound, especially as Taylors go: great built-in electronics, easy action, and it’s just so purty.

Days Off is an incredibly catchy but smart punk band from Chicago. While they’re the best of what pop music through the ages has to offer, they’re by no means pop-punk. As infectious as their hooks and choruses are, there are enough off-kilter rhythms and complex guitar work to give their music a layered feel, putting them into a category all their own.

To be honest, I can’t bring myself to care about the new TSA scanners in airports. It’s not like they can’t already see and know everything about you already. However, I love these garments with the 4th Amendment printed on them in metallic ink so that the text show up clearly on scanners.
