Erica Ryan Stallones
The paintings of my wife and collaborator Erica Ryan Stallones are always a source of inspiration, as their unassuming subject matter recedes to reveal subtle moments of disjointedness, breaks from perspective, linear motion, and narrative.
Moments of purpose isolated from decidedly un-curated spaces where the moment of recognition is followed by the subtle creep of unknown and uncomfortable transmission. People frozen (frequently against their will and without their knowledge) in totemic modes, blessings and curses in equal measure.

With recent interests in developing interior lotus-organs, this record meets the challenge from the first bud that flowers from the speaker cone. Deeply spiritual investigations of overtone singing in the holiest sanctuary of the human layrnx.
Alex Chilton: Like Flies On Sherbert
Frequently claimed to be one of the worst albums ever made, I’m totally entranced by the sloppily poured love, enthusiasm, boredom, and hatred sloshing to and fro in equal, intoxicating measure. Read more
Victory Chimp audio book: presented by The Howling Hex
Recently released audio-book edition of cyberpunk border poetry from one of the most overlooked heros in art, music, and literature: the one and only Neil Michael Hagerty (I was a late comer, but I’m staying awhile). The text is heftily gargled with original music, dusty-eyed transmissions from who knows where, and bloodshot speed reads from a hallucinatory diversity of voices. Straylight burns.

The Futurebirds are an unruly band of boys from Athens, Georgia, but they might as well have been reared in the backwoods of Woodstock by Levon Helm himself. Their debut release, Hampton’s Lullaby, is out on July 13 via Autumn Tone Records.
