Awesome animated video by Christian De Vita
From the world of animated films, we came across the art of one story-artist whose works have included the Fantastic Mr Fox, Wes Anderson’s wonderful take on the Roald Dahl classic.
Christian De Vita recently won the ASIFA ANIMATION ART award in Italy, which recognizes the commitment of those who have contributed most during the year to the growth and enhancement of ‘Italian and international entertainment, artistically, professionally and culturally’. She is currently working on Tim Burton’s upcoming Frankeweenie, Christian continues to deliver quality work in an industry that is continuously moving faster and faster: 25 frames per second.

Surfing at Rhossili Beach in Wales
Most don’t think of Wales as a surfing destination. In fact, most people don’t think of Wales at all. But the dramatic cliffs and breathtaking scenery that surround Rhossili Beach create a ‘surf sweet spot’, making this travel destination alluring to both surfers and nature-lovers alike. Read more
Traktor: new single from Swedish folk-pop group Francis
This Swedish folk-pop group has released an EP, This Must Be Blood, featuring Traktor [above], among other gems. They’ve been on the circuit since 2006, with their live performance being described on Last.fm as ‘an unleashed Tasmanian Devil singing heartbreaking gospelsongs’. Fun.

I recently came across Helen Musselwhite’s beautiful paper sculptures. Inspired by nature, her stunningly intricate layered designs draw you into a fairytale world of forests, flowers and hedgerows. Her framed pieces make beautiful wall art, but it’s her haunting sculptures in glass domes that really stick in my mind. Read more
I’ve loved 3D art ever since I was a kid, especially the kind that requires 3D glasses to really appreciate it. My studio, Thunderdog, is working on an art book right now of just three dimensional art, featuring a hundred artists. It should be out next Christmas.

My friend Sam moved to Portland and subsequently discovered she hates fedoras. She started this blog to document her hatred.
The latest band to make LA proud is tropical-nu wave act Abe Vigoda. These guys are so new and so exciting that even your grandparents don’t know who they are. Yet! They describe themselves as tropical punk, but I like to think of them as nihilistic rockers — no form, no shape, just chaos. If LA’s new breed of punk popstars such as Health, Meiko Meiko and Pocohauntas make you tremble, then this band are sure to get you very worked up.
