Wow! There’s just something about colour that brings history to life. These incredible recently released colour images from Time and Life and Getty were taken during World War Two and reveal a devastated London reeling from the constant onslaught of Nazi bombers.

Juggernaut: a 44 second 3D animation by Jonathan Monaghan
Artist Jonathan Monaghan has just released a new video, Juggernaut, a 44 second 3D animation about an unfortunate meeting between a lamb and businessman. Monaghan notes the colloquial English use of the word ‘juggernaut’ as a metaphorical force regarded as mercilessly destructive and unstoppable. The clip is part of a larger series of hallucinatory, video game-inspired vignettes to come.

Things continue to improve for New York’s metal scene, if Batillus are any indication. The sludge/doom trio from Brooklyn offer crushingly heavy, down-tuned and down-tempo instrumental riffage that sounds like what a mutant that has crawled out of Newtown Creek might have on his iPod. The band recently added vocalist Fade Kainer of Inswarm (Jarboe’s touring band) to its line-up.
