Selvedge Yard
An amazing archive of brilliant photography and great write ups, and veering heavily towards motorcycle and gang culture photography, the creative whirlwind behind the Selvedge Yard blog groups together in his archive a collective spirit of musicians, artists, writers and rebel rousers that I find so inspiring and interesting.

Sublime Frequencies are a label based in Seattle that release music that would just never see the light of day without their hard graft and passion. Releasing new talent and discovering music from tropical kingdoms never explored, they really know what they’re into and put things out that are so carefully researched and beautifully put together.
Bo Ningen: the best Japanese band you’ve never heard
They all met in London, but are from different parts of Japan. The first time I saw Bo Ningen was in a basement in King’s Cross and I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears; beautiful psychedelic guitar noise that went from intense Boredoms and Branca-like repetition, to deathly quiet bouts of creepy Japanese wailing and lucid free drumming. They’re working on a new record with Stolen Records which I can is going to be something brilliant.

I daresay Tim Berners-Lee is somewhat less than impressed that his glorious vision of uniting the planet and furthering our collective knowledge via his creation of the world wide web has led to this on-going collection of (currently) 25089 pictures of filthy old mattresses. Dumped in the street. All over the world. Let’s give ourselves a round of applause people.
This song for me is inspirational in two ways:- the actual live performance and the song itself. The song had never been played before. The guys that were playing together hadn’t met before and had only known each other for two hours. They managed to create a musical vibe and a beautiful song that made the audience and the two performers interlock in this musical whirlwind.
