Caren Alpert is a food photographer based in San Francisco. For the last 18 months, she has been shooting food with an electron microscope. The foods featured here are Cake Sprinkles (above); then (below) Brussel Sprout; Shrimp Tail; Passion Fruit; Sun Dried Tomato; Star Anise; and Blueberry.
